FAQ's

Here you'll find everything you need to know about the event. Please reach out to Rachel or Jordan if you have any specific questions. You can contact us on WhatsApp, phone or post your questions to the Facebook page.

What is the dress code?
This is a beach wedding so no need to come in your morning suit and tie. The weather will be HOT so do bear this in mind when picking your outfit. Summer dresses for the ladies and lightweight chinos & shirts are recommended for the gents. And yes you can wear your shorts and flip-flops (thongs for our Aussie friends.)

Do you have a gift list?
We would rather have your presence than your presents! We understand our guests are spending a lot of money to be with us in Thailand for our wedding, so there is no expectation for you to bring a gift. However, if you would like to gift us something, a contribution to our honeymoon would of course be appreciated.

Are children welcome?
Children are welcome to attend both the wedding and the recovery BBQ. Please note that on the wedding day we will be providing separate catering for the children during post-wedding cocktails. We will also be providing entertainment and childcare (nannies) for the children so that adults can relax and enjoy the celebration, however, if you would like your child/children to be with you throughout the event (including the sit-down meal) that's totally fine. Please indicate this on your RSVP form.

What will the food be like?
There will be a combination of Thai and Western dishes served family-style at the tables. Guests can help themselves to the selection of dishes. Some of the food may be spicy but there will be plenty of non-spicy options. Please indicate on your RSVP form if you have any allergies or specific dietary requirements.

Will there be a free bar?
Yes! All alcohol for the wedding and recovery BBQ will be provided. The alcohol will be mainly beers, cocktails and spirits as the price of wine is outrageously expensive in Thailand, although there will be some wine provided on the tables and champagne for the toast.

Is food and drink included in the villa room rate?
The room rate includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and soft drinks. Some limited alcohol (beers, house spirits) will be provided but please feel free to bring your own booze also.

Will there be a free transfer from the airport to the villa?
Transfers are available for guests staying at the Kalyana or Ban Sairee villas. We have a limited number of free transfers which will be prioritised for groups arriving together on the same flight. Please share your flight details on your RSVP form and we will confirm if we are able to offer you a free transfer. Otherwise standard transfer price is approximately $25 USD

Can I bring any 'fun substances' to liven up the party?
We kindly ask that you do not participate in such activities during the wedding or recovery BBQ, or during your stay at the villa :-)

What happens once the wedding ends at 1am?
For those who want to kick on after the wedding has ended, transport can be organised to areas such as Chaweng Beach where bars and clubs remain open until the early hours, or back to your accommodation if you are not staying at the villa (this will need to be paid in cash.) Alternatively you can use Grab to book a cab.

The main sound system will be turned off at 1am, but guests are welcome to stay and enjoy drinks inside the villa afterwards, as long as noise is kept to a minimum.

I can't make the wedding - can I still come to the recovery BBQ?
The wedding is on a Friday so we understand some people may not be able to attend due to work commitments. You are welcome to attend the BBQ on Saturday even if you are unable to make the wedding.

What is the plan for the Full Moon Party on Sunday 4 June?
Amazingly the full-moon coincides with our wedding weekend, so we thought what better way to start our married life than to attend an all-night rave with a bunch of Gap Year students?

The plan is vague at this stage but we will continue to update this page as we have more info. Boats will leave Koh Samui for Koh Phangan on Sunday afternoon.
